PSI-Polymer Systems, Inc. Completes Move To New Facility Conover, NC (June 8, 2009)
PSI-Polymer Systems Inc. has announced it has completed its move to an all-new facility in Conover, North Carolina. The new building is approximately 8 miles from the company’s former location in Hickory and features 45,000ft² of floor space, three times more space than PSI had in their old location.
PSI plans to use the additional space to expand its service offerings to customers and will also stock additional spare parts inventory. In addition, PSI is adding numerous new machine tools to enhance the company’s manufacturing and repair capabilities.
The company, which provides gear pumps, screen changers and other auxiliary equipment for the extrusion, polymer processing and recycling industries, has seen an increase in demand for its repair/rebuild programs, according to Rob Martin, General Manager of PSI. This led the company to look for a new facility where it could expand its manufacturing operations.
“We needed to add more work stations to ramp up our product repair business and provide faster turnaround for our customers,” said Martin. “Customers are looking to keep their existing auxiliary equipment running and in good condition, and that has become an important part of our business.”
One popular PSI service program is the company’s “Pump Exchange Program”, which allows customers to send in their used gear pumps for credit towards a new PSI pump. With this program customers can enjoy the benefits of the new PSI pump, which is a ‘drop-in’ replacement that can provide increased output rates, faster start-ups, more accurate gauge control and reduced scrap, for significant savings. PSI also offers repair/rebuild programs for gear pumps, screen changers and static mixers, which emphasizes service and repair of competitive brands including MAAG, Dynisco, and Normag pumps.
PSI will be exhibiting at the upcoming NPE 2009 show in Booth #67069 in McCormick Place North.
